These “before and after” photos will definitely change the way we look at history. Don’t miss number 23. It’s heartwarming.
1. Pluto In 1994 Versus Now

Images of Pluto taken by the Hubble Space Telescope in 1994 showed eight pixels per image, each of which represented more than 150 square miles of the planet’s surface. These pictures aided researchers in producing the first surface maps of Pluto, demonstrating that the planet has a diverse surface rather than being a homogenous ball of ice.
2. Chicago In 1930 Vs Chicago Today

There is something special about cities that had their heyday in the years before glass, reinforced concrete, and modernism. Just about every tall building is still there.
3. Prague in 1910 Vs Now

We think that they should probably have kept that clock/light combo. It looked awesome.
4. The Hollywood Sign In The 1920s Versus Now

Originally, the sign promoted Hollywood Land, a brand-new neighborhood. In 1949, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce removed the land component and signed a contract with the landowners to keep the sign up. Eventually, it became dilapidated, but in 1978, it was restored.
5. San Diego, California: 1927 And 2020

It looks like the water was pushed back for development. And what you see there is the airport.
6. New York Harbor in 1937 And Now

Imagine how surreal it was to see the size of New York in 1937. The only thing we can confirm is the bridge being the same in both. Obviously, there are more, but we don’t know the names and can’t distinguish them.
7. The Big Oak In Thomasville, Georgia, In 1895 And Now

Considering how many years it takes to mature these big oaks, America lost a lot of them during Hurricane Michael. It’s just so sad.

Have you ever thought about the fact that it has now been down for longer than it was up? We also noticed the lights. Harsh spot lights during the separation but now, stylish lights.
9. Rio De Janeiro In 1880 And Now

It never ceases to amaze us to see a giant Jesus statue t-posing over an entire city. And take a look at that person on the left who is positioned exactly where the person in the “before” photo was.
10. The Flatiron Building in 1917 And Now

This has to be the least changed part of New York. It’s crazy how little has been altered.
11. The University Of Montana 150 Years Ago And Now

Maybe those horizontal striations on the hillside behind the clock tower are old shorelines from glacial Lake Missoula. The ice repeatedly blocked the Clark Fork River and the whole valley was underwater many times prior to about 12,000 years ago.
12. Mount Rushmore In 1922 And Now

Why does the left side of the rock face look different in the after pic? The changes don’t look manmade. Did it erode so quickly?

The Kowloon Peninsula is a peninsula that faces Hong Kong Island and constitutes the southern portion of the major landmass inside Hong Kong’s borders. It is located next to Victoria Harbour. Kowloon is the collective name for the Kowloon Peninsula and the New Kowloon region.
18. Los Angeles In 1901 Versus 2001

Probably, these two photos were taken from different angles. If we had to guess, the top picture is facing northwest, the western side of the Santa Monica mountains looks like that. The mountains in the second image are the San Gabriels. Looking right at Mt. Baldy.
19. Dubai In 1985 Versus 2016

Some people say that the way the city is set up is terrible, just an absolute disaster from a city planning standpoint. It’s built for highways and skyscrapers and nothing else, so it’s barely walkable and there’s almost no public parks/ land.
20. The Mayan Temple Of Kukulcán In 1892 Versus Now

We believe that decades of clean up, archelology and tourism money have made it almost original. And they look stunning.

This was actually during the construction of the Lincoln Memorial in 1917. The year 1922 was the year that the Lincoln Memorial had its dedication, and by that time looked more similar to the Lincoln Memorial we are familiar with.

25. Manufaktura, Łódź, Poland 1994 And 2014

Łódź is such an underrated city. It doesn’t have the medieval charm of many others in Poland, but it has this really interesting history tied to the Industrial Revolution and textiles that you can see everywhere.

Some say that Japan took heartbreak and turned it into beauty. And we could not agree more.
27. Machu Picchu, Peru, 1915 And 2020

Not many people know that, after being left forgotten and undisturbed for centuries, Machu Picchu was rediscovered in 1911 by an American explorer, Hiram Bingham. Being set high above on a mountaintop, the Spanish conquistadors never saw Machu Picchu and consequently never wrote about it.
